GMail is Down! Why and What Do you Do? Reasons to Download Google Chrome

The Google email client GMail found at mail.google.com is apparently down and the millions of gmail users are struggling to find ways to get into their email accounts today. Unfortunately the reason why Gmail email system is down is unknown as the only message that is displayed on my web browser Google Chrome is 502 Server Error and that is not enough to indicate why the top web email client on the Internet is down. Knowing the great Google, this is to be temporary so chances are by the time you get to read this post, gmail issues had been fixed. Here are things gmail users can do in the mean time.

Here is what Google employees (Gmail blog employees) had to say on the Gmail Blog at tp://gmailblog.blogspot.com/ and apparently they have no Idea why their system is down too!

We know many of you are having trouble accessing Gmail right now — we are too, and we definitely feel your pain. We don't usually post about minor issues here (the Apps status dashboard and the Gmail Help Center are usually where this kind of information goes). Because this is impacting so many of you, we wanted to let you know we're currently looking into the issue and hope to have more info to share here shortly. If you have IMAP or POP set up already, you should be able to access your mail that way in the meantime. We're terribly sorry for the inconvenience and will get Gmail back up and running as soon as possible.

If you find Gmail down, here is what you do. Find an other email client you can use in the mean time.

1. Go to www.hotmail.com and open a Hotmail account so you can use it temporarily.
2. Go to www.yahoo.com and sign up for Yahoo Email
3. Try searching other free web based email clients you may find useful.

Again, as I said, Gmail will be up shortly, that is guaranteed. If it is still down by the time you read this post, please leave a message on the comments below. If you don't know what Gmail is -and there are a few people that are still not familiar with Gmail, trust me - then you have nothing to worry about. But for the rest of us web savy nerds, we do have to worry and may have to make our voices heard. So, here is your chance to rant and complain. Write your open letter to Google below on the comments section!

UPDATE September 02/09 - The issue with Gmail has been fixed! It is now working.

Chrome is new Web Browser
By the way, the easiest way to use GMail is to download the Google Chrome web browser, which is by far the fastest web browser currently on the Internet. Just Download Google Chrome Free from Google web site or from Youtube.
