Somali Youth Learn to Appreciate Peaceful Environment - SOYAT Basketball

While the young men in Somalia resolve their conflicts through the barrel of the AK47 machine guns, here in Toronto, young men are putting together the building blocks of tomorrows leaders. It is called, the SOYAT or Somali Youth Association of Toronto. Among the many programs they hold to bring the Somali youth together is a basketball tournament where players from different neighborhoods come to the basketball courts to get away from violence and play basketball. The idea, as the representatives of SOYAT explain to the camera in this video, is to build a positive environment where the young Somali men learn to resolve conflicts to mediation and through positive means that do not involve arguments or violence.
