Help Somalia from falling into insurgent hands, cries Somali prime minister

According to a report on USATODAY newspaper, Somalia urgently needs international help to "stem and Islamic insurgency and rampant piracy of the coast, the prime minister said in an interview Tuesday."  The talk of the town is that the interim Somali prime minister is running around the globe crying foul hoping US and EU referees will call on and bring penalty upon Somali insurgency groups.  Fact is, the US and other NATO allies need piracy and weak government to continue infiltrating Somalia geographically and politically.  For instance, when the Saudi ship carrying tons of oil was being taken over by pirates, the NATO firepower simply watched, despite them being able to interfere.  Why? "Because the pirates hide themselves among fishermen!."

Many Somalis ask very often, does America and NATO allies care about the safety of fishermen in the Somali coast or is there another reason preventing them from taking the pirates to task?

When you speak to the Somali civilians in the outskirts of Mogadishu in refugee camps, they always seem to point out that the American government had not condemned Ethiopian troops actions when they committed genocide there as they had massacred 50 civilians.  Of course, the NATO sea watchers also say it is not their primary goal to chase or fight pirates.
Now that Ethiopian muscle, whatever that means and nowadays not much, is vacating Somalia.  What is next?

The international community should play their role now, and not tomorrow, to avoid any power vacuum," Prime Minister Nur Hassan Hussein told The Associated Press in an interview from the patio of a hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.

Power vacuum? Somalia has been invaded and now, hopefully, the occupiers are retreating.  Considering the fact they're not volunteering to leave, those who made them depart are and will be in control.  It is apparent that the power is with those who want freedom from the occupiers.

It is very sad, and shameful to say the least, that the prime minister is crying for help on the account of continuing to stay on his dusty seat instead of yelling out for the aid of 350,000 malnourished children currently in the country.  Calling on the EU/US and other world leading nations to send troops to protect a puppet-no-use group of politicians referred to as the TFG is a shameful tactic to occupy a seat, the prime minister seat.

While leaving the TFG powerless on their departure, the Ethiopians are forgetting the reason they said they originally invaded Somalia.  Their excuse to enter our borders was that they wanted to protect themselves from Islamic insurgents who threatened their security.  It was only then that they admitted they wanted to keep Abdullahi Yusuf in power.  We all know what happened to him.  Regardless, the Tigres want to cut their loses and sneak back into their safety borders.  One must remember, the take over of the Islamic fighters can only be good news.

  6. ASC,

Somalia is a pirate haeven now. I dread being of the same kind as those who, not only set up illegal check points in urban areas in main cities, but also now hold the rest of world hostages.

Somalis should do something about this.
